I’m Alyson Richelle — founder of What They Don’t Tell You™. With 15 years as a Senior Sergeant of Police and my own lived experience as a survivor, I’ve seen both the system’s failures and its potential for change.
My mission is to equip survivors, parents, and professionals with tools, truth, and trauma-informed support so no one has to face abuse or system failure alone.
What They Don’t Tell You™ exists to:
Shine light on the hidden signs of abuse.
Break down barriers in systems like police, courts, and services.
Provide practical tools that survivors and families can actually use.
Create a safe space where your voice matters.
This began with my own story — as both a police officer responding to abuse and a survivor trying to navigate broken systems.
I realised survivors weren’t failing; the systems were failing them.
So I built What They Don’t Tell You™ to bridge that gap — blending professional insight, lived experience, and real-world tools to help others rebuild their lives with confidence.
You don't have to label it to ask for help. If something else feels wrong, we'll explore safe options together - no pressure, no judgement.

No. Abuse can affect anyone. I work with people or all genders, ages, backgrounds, and roles - survivors, parents, professionals, and allies.
You'll find free resources, guides, and community support here. If you need more, we can discuss flexible options to make sure you still get help.
You'll get the guide instantly. You'll also receive optional follow-up emails with extra tools and support - if you choose.
